– helping elderly people stay in their own homes, by providing companionship, assisting with tasks such as washing, preparation of meals, etc
– Assisting people who are downsizing from a large to a small house or going into a retirement village. Helping to decide what needs to be got rid of and then supporting by listing on Trade Me, taking stuff to charity shops etc
– Providing cover for people who manage their own Airbnb so that they can get away on holiday themselves.
Why this Project is of benefit to Kapiti: Time Genie is aimed at busy people – many of whom commute into Wellington daily. Having been a commuter myself I know how jobs get left undone because you are away from home for a long day. This also applies to people who have elderly relatives living in Kapiti but don’t have the time to provide them with the support they need.
Key Stakeholders: Commuters, Local retirement villages, Airbnb owners, Networking groups such as Chamber of Commerce, Kapiti Now, Venus, BNI.
Skill / Funding Gap: I have a teaching and Public Health background. I am well organised, efficient and capable. If I am not able to help a client myself, I have excellent research skills to find someone who can. I do not require funding.
I welcome the opportunity to introduce my relatively new business to the KEDA group and extended network.
