Kapiti Economic Development Agency (KEDA) supports the owners and originators of priority projects with the appropriate expertise and connections from within our KEDA network and other stakeholders – including existing businesses, sector/industry groups, Maori, local and central government. We are a volunteer based organisation of local people with an interest in economic development. As such, we have limited resources within our organisation but we have great networks.
We are aspirational in what we do. Our aim is to see an independent, multi-stakeholder economic development group for Kapiti with links to local businesses, the Kapiti Coast Chamber of Commerce, Kapiti Coast District Council, Wellington Regional Development Agency and other key organisations promoting economic development. We believe that an independent, multi-stakeholder approach is critical for the success of economic development initiatives. While we operate currently on a voluntary basis, our vision is that by 2020, KEDA will emerge as a sustainable, fully funded organisation governed by representatives from the key stakeholders.
In the interim, we seek to build our membership base and achieve success in supporting projects with economic benefits.
